Tissot Couturier Day-Date Powermatic 80 thoughts?

I am currently considering buying this elegant Tissot Couturier, but I feel like I need some social reassurance. Any thoughts on this particular model? Thanks in advance for the help, fellow watch nerds!

Certainly an interesting piece. I kind of like the large date cut out at 6. Great symmetry. I have a Tissot Ballade which is also considered a dress watch but when off the bracelet it makes a great everyday casual piece. I say go for it!

It is a handsome watch, and you can rest assured Tissot is a good quality product.  Sometimes you never really know until after you take the plunge.  Sorry that's all I got to add.

Thanks for the honest opinion! I find the bracelet a bit strange too, one of the factors on the “-“ side

I had a white dial small seconds version of this that I sold and regret parting with.  It was excellent.

If on a strap, I'd definitely rock that watch! The bracelet would have to be ditched, though - I passionately hate butterfly clasps (and alas, this bracelet has one), and whenever I tried on various Couturier models (I worked at an AD of several Swatch Group brands), that bracelet was just absolutely unwieldy.

Nice watch with a Powermatic 80 movement. It’s a Tissot so not the most expensive watch. Go for it! 😃

its a nice piece very elegant but i would prefer the jazz master day date

I thinks it’s a great looking watch. Not sure why the date window is so huge.

i get symmetry but i feel the negative space is a little awkward

Does it remind anyone else of Seikos SNKL23?

otherwise…why not…Tissot PM80s are the best value swiss on the market

This was on my hit list for a while and came close to pulling the trigger a couple of times.

I think I'm over it now 😃

Just a heads up, that model is available on jomasshop for 300$

New member here, saw your post so I'll share my experience. I have two of this model, I purchased the first one with the all black dial and the black simulated alligator strap. Love the watch.

I saw another version with orange minute markers and orange stitching on the strap so I purchased that one figuring I would sell one of the two but I still have both of them.

Oddly, they have different deployant clasps and the first purchase fits a little better on my wrist.

I also purchased the OEM bracelet from a Danish source, it's very high quality but very chunky and thick and does not taper and no micro adjustments. It's not my cup of tea on this watch but I may try it again sometime.

Just my $.02 good luck.

I’m considering this as well, just can’t get over the large cut out at the bottom for the date, seems like a mistake.

I recently bought one from Chrono24 with no strap. My first powermatic. I put a nato strap on it until the Oem strap arrives. I love the symmetry of the day date.
