Becalmed in a Sea of Watches

I'm going to blame the watch above for how I feel. Since I bought it I haven't been able to think of a new watch I might want. I mean its gotten bad. I was in the Short Hills Mall recently--it was cold out and I was getting my steps in, it's an old guy thing. In the mall there are several watch boutiques in a row: IWC, Rolex, Omega and two or three others. I went in to each to look, and I kept looking at smaller watches that looked a lot like the Longines I was wearing. And I thought, why would I buy a watch like the one I already have?

Obviously, this is crazy talk, but then I looked at my collection and I saw divers, a couple of tool watches, a chronograph, some nice dress watches, and even a vintage Patek. I even have a collection of colorful Seiko cocktail watches. Have others had that feeling of not wanting another watch? And what did you do?😕

You have a style that you love / feel suits you best. Nothing wrong with that!

Hi Nick, maybe you are transcending to 5D and have no more need of earthly possessions? Drop me a line if you get that urge again! I will unburden you of your watches 😀 Beautiful watch by the way - a keeper! If you fancy something different https://www.watches.com/collections/unusual-watches then again, hard to beat perfection.

Yeah, you may make the feeling even stronger by not consooming any watch related internet content, including this.

I feel like my Alpinist made me lose interest in any watch related media and any interest in finding the next big thing.

Case shape and lugs 🤌🏼

Having that feeling right now, I find Im gravitating to watches that look like watches I already own so no real point in adding another

Eg three Sinns 2x556 1 x586 trying to convince myself I need a diver but in reality they don’t do it for me, so I would just be trying to find one that isn’t too bad,not really a sound purchasing decision.

Longines did something really special with the 37mm Spirit. Definitely one of the few watches I own that I can't see letting go of.

I recently posted about my trip to the Short Hills Mall. It’s not that close to me, but if it were, I’d be there once a week! Patek, Tudor, Rolex Omega, Cartier on one floor and IWC, Tag, Breitling, Panerai on another floor! I was in heaven! That said, I’m very happy with what I have.

I also own this watch, on bracelet, and know exactly what you mean. My collection isn't as broad (or high end!) as yours but this one doesn't leave my wrist much. Can't recommend it enough!
