I couldn't resist this.....

I really like the the simplicity of a rectangular "Tank" watch. I was currently looking to buy a budget/used options to the Cartier tank and came across this on ebay. It was just $23 including shipping so I bought it. I most likely bought a franken watch, but the affordability and looks made me ignore all the stigma.

I’ve paid the same amount for the same watch * 2. Not yet arrived!

like you - I suspect it might be some kind of frankenwatch - but not sure it matters for the price..

My understanding is that if it comes from India and seems really cheap, it’s probably some type of frankenwatch. I’ve seen these and a lot of “Oris” watches. They all look nice, and at those prices, not much risk. I’ve considered on of these “Seikos” several time, and will probably get one at some point.

Yes these watches do say they come from India and they state that they "are refurbished". Mine arrived in about 2 weeks. They do look very nice regardless of what they are.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them, they just aren’t “original”. The most obvious thing is that they repaint the dials which is why they look so good. Last year there were a ton of vintage Hamilton with repainted dials, and I’ve been seeing the Orises for some time now.

As always, wear wheat you love.

Good looking watches. I don’t see anything wrong with “refurbished” inexpensive watches. I have something similar, but original from either my high school or college days (a long time ago) that my parents bought for me. It still keeps great time although the battery only lasts about three years. I looked up this model on eBay about a year or so ago. I found one for about $15. I'd forgotten I have it until I saw this post.
