Are you interested in the new TGV/Islander Rangemaster model?

TGV announced over the weekend that he's collaborated with Marc from Islander watches on a new Rangemaster model. All I know is that it's called the Rangemaster Mechanical and will come out on Wednesday 11 Oct. They're making 1,000 of this one. So are you interested? Do you think you'll get one?

He has a very specific type I have noticed in his previous collaborations. Sometimes I am with him on it but most of the time I prefer a less reserved more modern vibe. I think overall he has good taste, it feels a little stodgy and old school typically. Sometimes I can really like it as well so I interested to see what this watch looks like.

I thought it was going to be an explorer 2 vibe with polar dial and nh34 movement. Now that I suspect it’s a mechanical watch I have no idea what we’re getting. I am interested in replacing my Jack Mason GMT and Traska Summiteer 36 with a GMT explorer-type watch. We’ll see if this is it or if I’ll get the CW C63 GMT

Same here. I've got a CW C63 GMT and it's a great watch. Get it on the bracelet which has fantastic easy-to-operate on the fly adjustment.

My only concern is the length of the clasp. That’s part of the reason why I’m getting rid of the Jack Mason. I’m leaning towards the CW jubilee-style bracelet.

I haven't found to uncomfortable at all. It is a scratch magnet though.

If it's as fugly as the automatic version then a hard no.

It was a little disappointing

It'll be a Tudor ranger/Rolex Explorer/khaki field homage, handwound (thus the name) with the fugly Long Island Watch logo ruining the dial...

Quite likely. I was hoping it'd be an Explorer II homage.

Today is supposedly the day. Haven’t seen anything yet.

The video's dropped, it's a Hamilton-style field watch. The price is good but the dial is way too busy. It'll be a hard pass for me.

I just watched the video. I have to agree with you completely.

I got one, I was in the market for a smaller field watch and this checked all the boxes. I think what they did to achieve the 9.4mm thickness is pretty cool.

I agree, that part is really cool. I just can't justify the purchase of another mechanical watch unless it blows me away.
