Seiko SNK603 Review

Good Morning/Evening to all and Hello to a review of a classic and and loved watch, I guess I started loving the review thing and I hope this could be of help to someone hesitant to purchase it. Today I bring to you The Seiko 5 SNK603 one of the most beautiful/value watches created in 1963, Simply its the most inexpensive while giving great value automatic watch, it is greatly recommended as a first automatic watch to get you started. I’ve always wanted one to checkout for myself since I haven’t ever seen one, I was in between the SNK603 and the SNKL23(I recommend you see both). In my opinion they have the most eye catching dial colors and patterns. The automatic movement is nothing to write home about it does the job but without hacking if that’s something that might discourage you to purchase it. In my SNK603 it kept time reasonably well but I’ve heard horror stories of how it runs +5 minutes a day, but I didn’t face this problem. The bracelet was ok but just ok and the problem with mine is the I can’t easily change the bracelet but with the SNKL23 its easy and i was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to size the bracelet. The pattern on the dial was beautiful and I loved how it looked in the sun. If you can get this watch under a 100$ then you would be getting a bargain but I would suggest you wait if you couldn’t get it for close to 100 they regularly go on sale. The case back is transparent which elevates it a little bit. One of my favorite things in this watch was the hands the just elevate the whole watch completely to a new level. All in all I believe this is a watch that punches way above its weight and is a must have. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it.

Interesting review, thank you.

I have a load of vintage Seiko 5's. I just really think they work well and look nice. My favourite hands are the dauphine too.

I really like your watch.

Just found one online at a good price. I'm gonna end up getting it aren't I.

Cheers 😂

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all the 7S26 Seiko's like this are old stock that have been out of production for a couple years. I'm surprised to hear they still have fairly erratic pricing swings, as the tendency has been markedly upward recently. Still far from overpriced, but that combo of day/date with no hand winding can be a nuisance.

Cool review.  I'm glad you're digging your watch.  I have a real affinity for Seiko 5s of that era as they have the look and build quality of much higher prices watches imo.  The only reason I'd stay away from your particular model is the integrated bracelet.  I feel that watches in this range really stand out once they are put on an aftermarket strap.

I've got the SNK23 that I have paired with a mesh bracelet.  It looks good and is comfortable, but I think I'm going to put it on leather to get a different feel.
