Attention surfers

Just curious if there are any surfers in the watchcrunch fam, and if so, do you take any of your luxury watches out surfing? My G-SHOCKs get scratched up a bit (on the plastic case) when I surf with them and was wondering how a BB58 or other luxury diver would hold up.

I rarely go anymore, but if I do I dont wear a watch.  I usually don't need to know what time it is and there isn't any reason for me to wear a watch.  Same goes for diving, if I go now its usually only snorkeling and I don't need to know what time it is.

Younger days, I always wore my Seiko 6309 surfing and it held up very well.

Not a surfer, but the guys who started this watch company are. My favorite luxury beater is their D5 model. They wear 'em surfing. I've been cliff jumping with it on.

That‘s a nice watch! I’ll check it out, thanks!

Should be perfectly fine.

I got an Alsta Surf ‘n Ski and I love to take it to the ocean. Taking it surfing is just living up to its name.

Has a classic skin diver case with the particularity of being all blacked out. I love how graphic the dial design is and how it complements the bezel markings.

This is not a premium watch, and in all fairness, it’s even rough on some aspects. But I love its character and ultimately it’s a robust and reliable watch that I enjoy in and out of the water without any worries.

This was a small run of only 100 a few years ago (which in my eyes explains some of the roughness) so you might not find one any longer but there’s plenty other models quite similar and as capable.
