Why go to the moon when you can go past it? When Apollo 8 lost communication by going on the opposite side of the moon, all held their breath for almost 69 hours as this was the first manned mission to go in lunar orbit. The famous phrase “we’ll see you on the other side” by Astronaut Jim Lovell being the last communication before the successful trip around is an #iconic moment in space history.
