I own the quartz gold PRX. It’s actually very nice and checked off a lot of boxes for me.

That’s not a fair question. Mechanical vs quartz is one issue. Chinese is another. Be aware, there are many new Chinese watchmakers that seem to be producing good watches.

I try to avoid buying anything chinese. I don't buy Lenovo, Xiaomi, etc. as a matterof principal. Granted some things are unavoidable but to me it is still different when something is made in china by a western company vs purely Chinese company, ownership, production, etc., however slightest that difference might be.

Comac has 1 commercial airplane. The C919, which doesn't have FAA or EASA approval, (more than likely a political decision since France and Germany and the US want to protect Airbus and Boeing respectively) but has meet regulatory requirements that are very similar to those in the West (regulations are managed by international bi-lateral agreements). Also, Boeing manufactured and sold the 737 MAX with a defective software maneuvering system, which lead to the tragic loss of life of over 346 individuals.

Airplanes and other commercially operated vehicles have to meet much higher and stricter guidelines then normal personal use vehicles.

I would please ask you from refraining to push disreputable ideas about manufacturing in other places in the world.

The key factors in manufacturing are a skilled labor force that can make the goods and an effective and efficient supply chain. If you looked at the history of Swiss watch making and the current situation in watch manufacturing you'd realize how vital the Chinese watch manufacturers have become.
