Burntout

Well I've been into watches for the last 10 years, I use to love traveling ebay for new watches but just lately nothing takes my fancy and when I go to grab a watch I always go for a vintage one. I've got some really nice modern automatic watches but just don't enjoy them anymore, I'd rather wear a vintage quartz than the latest all singing and dancining auto. Think I've found my nirvana and its vintage quartz and not autos. Am I mad lol

I hear ya. I burn out on aspects of my pursuits and then change direction. I chalk it up to natural healthy curiosity that many people just don’t have. And I don’t have an attachment to status or whatever keeps watch collectors from exploring less prestigious watches. Keep looking around the next corner!

That’s the beauty of this hobby, there are niche’s for everyone.

Don't worry your not on your own,we're all a bit mad in this pursuit of ours. For most of my life I've been a quartz man (financial constraints) but since no mortgage I've been able to play with some 'proper' watches and said never  again quartz till quite recently bought some zodiac quartz (like you love trawling e bay) love them ,funky designs, bit retro and cool. So there's always something in this diverse world we're in to pique your interest. Hell even this week I've even bought a non dive watch, now that is mad (well for me it is) enjoy.

Think I might have a clear out of watches i don't wear anymore but on the plus side it saves me some money 🤣

Yeah our taste in watches do change overtime…I once heard a tale of a guy who loves Omegas and even once called himself Omeganut and now She loves Grand Seikos and even change her name too @HotWatchChick69 … I think even a sex change 🤔, you know how stories get told overtime and details get convoluted…

Anyways…enjoy your next chapter in collecting and l’m sure folks here can direct you to some nice vintage watches…
