My watch journey in chronological order. Part 2

I got this watch as a present from my wife shortly after I started taking interest in watches. At that time I made my first steps at tinkering with watches, buying cheap broken watches on ebay and trying to repair them (what mostly led to minor disaster). My interest in watches, watch collecting an especially mechanical watch movements started to grow exponentially which led to my wife gifting me this wooden warch from the German brand Holzkern. It has an automatic Myota watch movement which you can see through the open case back - just perfect to satisfy my movement-admiring-needs.

The wooden design in contrast to a stone dial give a really natural and interesting style. As my taste changed over time this watch gets less wrist time as it is a little too big for my small wrists with its 42mm diameter.

Never the less this watch is symbolic for my start into watch collecting and also reminds me of my wife’s approval to commit to this (in part financially challenging) hobby 🪵🕖💍

Similar for me, minus the tinkering.
