Borealis Sintra Review

I actually meant to write a review about this watch earlier but ended up having a second honeymoon with it (I’ll explain that later) and decided to wait a little before writing this.
I originally bought this watch to both check out the brand and because I wanted a watch with a nice green dial, and that I got. I am a big fan of dials with a bit of texture and this Borealis gets full marks there.

This dial isn’t simply nice it’s gorgeous (okay maybe the honeymoon isn’t quite over yet), and it’s very legibl, which is something some watches struggle with, you can see my review of the Wise AD9M for an example of that. That legibility stays at night as well with some very good lume and the lume on the crown is a nice touch.

Add that to the 20mm lug width, with drilled lugs and The straps become very easy to change out. Speaking of straps I should probably mention the bracelet that it comes with. My first one had a fault that made the screw links stick, but Borealis were very quick to send out a replacement. It’s a very simple looking bracelet but very comfortable.
Now on to the second honeymoon. I was rushed into hospital earlier this year with extreme chest pains. This was the watch I was wearing an affordable mechanical watch would not be my first choice of watches for a hospital visit, but it wasn’t planned. During my 5 nights in hospital I was x-rayed several times and had 2 CT scans all while wearing this watch. It did not seem to loose a second. I got in touch with Borealis about it and found that they don’t certify this they build this watch with 15,000A/m antimagnetism. Add that to it’s 200m of water resistance and this watch could almost be thought of as a GADA watch.
With a 42mm diameter and 13mm thickness this watch may be a little large for some but I love it.

Nice review!! Yeah, I really like the white/ Orange seconds hand. Would like to see it in 40/20, 13mm is near perfect. I'll still end up getn one😉

It’s a great watch and that colour design is really nice. Might have gone that way myself if I hadn’t wanted a green dial do much.

Wow, great watch with a beautiful dial. Went to their website (I don't know why I haven't before) and love your watch and the blue dialed version (both sold out of course).

They’re quite popular but it’s not a limited edition I’m sure there’ll be more. The service at Borealis is excellent they could probably tell you when they’re getting more in if you’re interested.

I failed to clean the sapphire crystal before I took this shot but just wanted to say that I really like your green Sintra and my black dial one is a keeper IMHO.  I wear it out on date nights with my Wife and get a lot of compliments.  Wish I had a green one, too.
