Moonphase complication on a chronograph

I feel like I’ve been extolling the virtues of Certina a lot recently and I feel like this one demonstrates why.

It truly is a beautiful piece, and was one of two chronographs I got today, and because it came in early today I’ve had this on my wrist for most of today and have not been able to stop myself from admiring it. A chronograph moonphase for a reasonable amount. I know this is a quartz but the finishing on this is incredible, haven’t found any QC issues yet, it’s just a really beautiful watch. I really like Tissot and Hamilton, but Certina hover around in the same price range and doesn’t seem to get anywhere near the same amount of love.

The only problem with this watch (if I remember correctly) is a huge lug to lug of 51mm or so. That is too huge for a lot of wrist. A 48-49 would have been better with a more rounded case/shape :( beautiful watch (love the blue/white one) 🔥

That's a very nicely implemented moonphase dial layout. @zorroCH86 is right that finding a moonphase chronograph in a small wrist-friendly size is tricky. My favourite watch is my 37mm Eterna auto moonphase chrono from the 80s. It took me ages to find something with those complications that was comfy to wear.

I am saving for a Glashütte PanoMaticLunar, very nice rounded case. 40mm, a bit thick but fits really great. A bit on the expensive side 🥲 only alternative is something vintage or a longines master chronograph moonphase 40mm (which I dont dislike... But I prefer saving for the GO)

It’s true the lug to o lug is a little large. That’s my one gripe with Certina generally, their watches all tend to land on the larger size of what I would go for normally, but I just couldn’t say no to that dial. Plus I don’t mind my chronographs being a little bit bigger.

That’s beautiful, well done. I don’t have any experience with arterna, maybe its time to look into them. Thanks for the tip.
