I think I’m set for gmts now

Having just watched @MWC2020 new video on how he’s done with trying out divers as he had his 2 Black Bay divers I was thinking there’s no way I’m going to get there and then UPS knocked on my door with a parcel, I pulled out my new Raymond Weil Freelancer gmt and thought I get it now.

100m of water resistance, which is a must for me for an everyday watch, the nice bronze bezel and crowns to break up the steel case and patina as time goes on, the Worldtimer function, that will mostly be used as a fidget spinner, although I do talk to people around the world so I might use it properly. And the size; a 41mm diameter 48mm lug to lug and only 9.7mm thick, this is my most comfortable, and I think the lightest watch in my collection.

So I get it now. This is my perfect gmt. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to have any others, I’m keeping my Circula Aquasport gmt and Citizen Promaster gmt Worldtimer, nor does it mean that I think everyone will like it, in fact they have the exact same watch in a black dlc coating that might work better for a lot of people. But this is my perfect one, and I feel I can stop hunting for gmts now. But as the Mad Watch Collector said there’s plenty of other types to look for. 😉

Yeah I’m really loving it. Going to be a long honeymoon period with this one.

Cool! I was looking forward Freelancer (non GMT) open heart version (bridge and balance wheel visible) also in same olive color and strap. GMT version is also super nice. But both were a bit big (only 42mm) for my wrist, so I passed - but RW watches from new collection are beautiful. Was always curious that RW doesn’t get much attention anywhere, though brand has some history and priced just right in my opinion. Enjoy this GMT - truly nice watch 👍

Thank you. Yeah I’m not sure why Raymond Weil doesn’t get more attention, though that might raise their prices so I maybe should be grateful

Thanks really like the gradient dial which makes for a really interesting look.

Love this! I’ve been eyeing myself this exact same color way, but never had the chance to try it in person. How does it sit on the wrist? Curious to know if it’s a good fit for my 6.5-inch wrist.

I’ve got a 7”wrist and it’s close to borderline not so much because of the size as to how flat it is there’s very little curve to the lugs, so it doesn’t hug the wrist at all. But I just love how it looks.

Thanks for responding to my other message too. Cheers!
