So my son said he wanted a new watch and showed me the Casio F91w. I got it for him and told him the history of that watch and how much of a giant it is, and boy did he look bored during that history lesson. Any way he is off to a great start!

While I love that he doesn't have time for your boring history lesson, I am concerned that he didn't listen when you told him watches go on your left wrist. Kids these days...
Did you tell him the terrorist stuff?
I am very glad to see that he has it set up properly with 24 hour time, hourly chime, and alarm all enabled. All is not lost.

Gotta defend the kid here. I always wear my watch on the right wrist.
My son has one as well - he never takes it off and is constantly timing things or setting alarms.
However, I happened to mention to him that there are such things as a G-shock and a "Casioak". He now wants one of those. What have I done?

The sins of the father as it were.

Dug a big hole for yourself, at least you didn't mention those £600 limited edition G's !

Whenever I’d comment on something cool and expensive as a kid, my Dad always had the same reply: “Study hard.”
I did, and now I’m practically swimming in $20 HMT Kohinoor frankenwatches. The old man was right!
😂 I can imagine. What worked for me was wearing the same watch (F91W gold variant) as my son (who's 5). He loved it then. Best of luck, he's definitely off to a great start.
