Navitimer bracelet struggles

Hi fellow crunchers,

for a little over a year I am owning a Navitimer B01 Chronograph 41. In winter time I like wearing it on a leather strap with the Breitling clasp allowing a step less adjustment of the strap size. As I am really delicate when it comes to a the right fit of my watches this helps me to really enjoy my watch on the leather strap without having the troubles of being inbetween holes with a pin buckle.

In summer time however, I like to enjoy the look an feel of a good stainless steel bracelet. As the Navitimer bracelet comes with a very nice butterfly clasp, it lacks of a fine adjustment. To be able to still get a good fit, Breitling adds two small links to the Navitimer bracelet. With the two links, I manage to get a comfortable fit and I like how the watch feels on my wrist. However, the small links have one major drawback and I do not understand why Breitling does this. The small links are fixed, meaning they do not fold as the rest of the bracelet does. As you can see in the pictures this leads to a hump on the bracelet where the clasp ends. It is still damn comfortable but it is just a little detail where I feel a luxury watch manufacturer should go the extra mile and not take the fast and easy path.

Any suggestions are more than welcome and I am curious to read if you have comparable “issues” or is it just me being super sensitive?

Thank you all and stay crunchy

Get an aftermarket bracelet.

Try the bracelet from a Breitling diver (SuperOcean). Most dive watches (including my super ocean) has an adjustable clasp (to expand the bracelet when it needs to go over a wet suit for instance). Assuming they’re interchangeable sizes of course. Otherwise, yeah, go aftermarket
