Got the call for the Rolex AD!

So been 2 years and I got the call 2 days ago but turned it down. I got fed up waiting so picked up the below last year as a small premium. My original thinking was to wear the blue and then sell it when I got the green however I love the blue Barton dial so told them to pass it on the the next person on the list. They seemed surprised but was grateful and agreed to fast track me into either an Explorer or Sub. I m nipping in tomorrow for a catch up.i did toy with having the two but only for a second, I have other watches on my radar that I would prefer.

Nice move. Someone will appreciate you 👍

Interesting. When I turned down the green dial 36 fluted/jubilee, the guy seemed annoyed… granted this was all by text and I could be reading into it, but he hasn’t been as friendly lately. This was summer 2023. Still waiting for BLNR, but I’m thinking it won’t happen now

I think any sales person who only started selling Rolex in the past five years is going to get really annoyed as the market returns to normal. They are going to be frustrated when they actually have to show potential customers the watches, let them try them on and actually spend time with people while selling a Rolex.

They might actually have to work soon. That’s gotta be annoying.

It’s a stunner! But if it wasn’t for you then best to let it go.

Honestly, from my experience and from what I’ve read on here since joining, it seems as if Rolex ADs act like they are doing you a favour by deigning to sell you a watch. In this thread we have a) someone deemed worthy of fast tracking onto a different model and b) a salesman getting annoyed because someone turned something down that they didn’t want. Last week I saw a tale from a chap who’d bought a £3k Tudor just to keep in the Rolex dealers good books. Awful, thanks but no thanks.

Every Rolex AD has their own method of distributing too few watches to too many potential customers. My AD is a multi brand dealer and has treated me well. They offered me an Explorer a couple years back but I declined. Last month, they offered a pink OP36 that I raced down there to get lest I get murdered by my wife.

I imagine it can get tiring answering twenty requests a day for limited supply of already allocated stock but I don’t think that’s an excuse to treat customers badly. That attitude says more about the sales associate and dealer than the brand.

Good move.

Green would have been hard to turn down

Blue is a great choice. Love my Azzurro blue. Enjoy!

It’s fantastic, totally agree. If I hadn’t picked up the blue batton then it would be on my wrist today
