I might pull the trigger on my first grail watch!

As my watch journey continues and my interest in the hobby doesn't seem to slow down i might pull the trigger on my "first" grail watch.

When i started i never ever thaught i might ever go ahead and buy a watch above 1000€.

This Longines Conquest in 39mm with the sunray blue dial was the first watch i really wanted but the price tag kept me from even thinking about actually purchasing it.

Things changed. I bet many of you got more and more comfortable purchasing more expensive watches over time.

Maybe around christmas i'll spoil myself with the watch that was one of the main reasons i ended up here, at a watch social media app 😅🤯

Some may think you should only have one grail watch but i guess we all know there is no such thing as "the last watch i'm gonna buy" anyway so a "grail watch" for me is more like a checkpoint, something i wanna get at some point, something to spoil me, something to keep the fire for the hobby lit, something i love and once i achieved that checkpoint there will always be another checkpoint because there is no finish line in sight. A few days ago i thaught the Rolex Explorer in 39mm could be my finish line but honestly... even if i ever get one... i 100% won't stop running, i will always keep running like a Eco-Drive laying in the sun 😏

Now maybe a few words about the actual watch

Longines, one of the most history rich swiss watch brands delivers this sports watch which is the entrance into the luxury segment.

The sunray dial is mesmerizing, i love the large numerals, the big sword style hands, the big crown guards which give this one a real unique look but they also make the watch appear bigger so i'll choose the 39mm version.

The movement is also very interesting, giving me 3,5Hz and a power reserve of 72 hours. Best of both worlds if you ask me.

MSRP is 1350€ here in germany which makes this actually one of the cheapest watches Longines has and therefore this watch can't be perfect, right? Well yes and it isn't 😅 Some complain about the bracelet, the thick bezel, the amount of polished segments or the lack of loom in this blue version but all these complaints come from people wearing and being used to watches costing twice the price or even more. My collection is more of a budget collection and i have no doubt Longines will introduce me into the next level of quality just fine 😇

For me, the Conquest oozes character. The dial, applied numerals and indices, crown guards and insane 300m of water resistance make this watch truly special and i can't wait to wear it on my wrist, it makes my heart race just thinking about it.

Thanks for reading ✌️

Longines are a great brand, i want to get myself a Spirit 37mm!

To make life harder for you, you can also consider these 2 watches while you wait for christmas! 😂

The NEW conquest line

And before you pull the trigger on any watch, try to handle them and try them on in person at an AD, even if you are buying pre-owned. Gives you a better perspective of how the wearing experience is going to be like, which in some cases, can be a dealbreaker for some.

Have fun!

i also love the spirit, it's also listed on my grail watch list but the price tag is almost double of the old conquest

same goes for the new Conquest which is also almost 1000€ more

i'll try find a AD but since the new Conquest released i haven't seen any "old" ones anymore

so i looked at the tissot gentleman and... nothing, it just doesn't scratch the itch for me

I pulled the trigger on the black 39mm a few months ago. Absolutely love it!! It's a great watch, wears as good as it looks. My advice, DO IT!
