Yes, they may be mud proof, but they are definitely much harder to push!

Sorry, but I have sort of come full circle. All of the watches I owned prior to beginning seriously collecting were quartz, and the majority of them were also digital. I only started collecting about ten years ago, and didn't get into mechanical watches until I had been collecting for a few years. Initially, I was all about quartz and especially solar quartz, until about 2017, when I got a Seiko 5. I got into mechanical and automatic movements, but my interest has really waned over the last year or so, and I am back to preferring solar quartz over mechanical for daily wear. Also on a bit of a G Shock kick lately. The DW5600 was my go to watch for years when I worked in restaurants.
