Not the upgrade I was expecting?

Hi everyone! I've been feeling a bit torn with Tudor's new updates. The BB36 had always been the watch I'm looking forward for an upgrade. But I was expecting it with in-house, T-fit clasp AND an oyster bracelet. I don't know if anyone feels the way I do, but I always think the smooth bezel always go best with an oyster bracelet, while the fluted bezel is best with the jubilee.

Yet this combo with the new BB36, is a bit weird in the middle. Like it wants to go dressy, but not quite there yet. However, still doesn't look very sporty as a jubilee.

Hope I can soon see both the blue and the champagne dial in the metal. The champagne dial looks a bit metallic silver/white in Teddy Baldessare's video.

Wondering if should I get the blue dial (its sunburst rather than the smooth of the old one, I like the old one better). But I got a (way better dial) Ginza Alpinist SPB259 already. It's a one-of-a-kind from Seiko that can never be replaced (for now).

(Ginza Alpinist photo by me 😜)

Go see the Tudor in person. The Seiko is beautiful, and if you love it and it's enough for you then don't worry about getting a Tudor you already have doubts about.

You're absolutely right Robert! Thanks for your suggestion. I'll definitely see it in person.

Had the same feeling and posted about it. Reddit was full of same complaints about the new BB lineup.

I agree on the jubilee bracelet and smooth bezel combination. Throws off that seamless design it had with oyster bracelet. The lacquered dials were better but the blue is the best dial in the new release and champagne dial is more of a silver dial from every video I have ever seen. Black was disappointment to me personally which I was my choice with the old model.

I would never let go off the Ginza if I had bought one. 😂 One of the best dials Seiko ever made.

You're absolutely right nightfury95! From the photos, I love the blue dial. Though the champagne dial looks like silver? Which kinda matches more with the smooth bezel X jubilee combo more than the sunray blue dial. All in all, I'll make final judgments after seeing the real thing.

I went by Tudor AD yesterday to check if they still had the older BB36/41 and was hoping they had slight discounts but they didn't have any. The AD said they will be getting the new display models next week and was open to taking orders already now.

Tudor called it a light champagne but from the videos and photos I have seen from Youtube and articles, the dial lean towards more of of a silver. It does match with the jubilee, like a datejust.
