HELP!

I've purchased a seiko as above

it has 7s26-002r on the dial & 7s26-0020 on the case.

the movement has a NH36A and I'm thinking I've been had, can you clarify what you think please?

Cheers Guys

It's probably an older watch that had a bum movement or one that needed to be serviced.  Since NH36s are so cheap, someone replaced the 7S26 movement with the NH36.  In all honesty, it's an upgrade.  The 7S26 lacked both handwinding and hacking, requiring you to do the Seiko shuffle to start the watch.  The NH36 has both features.  Otherwise, the movements are essentially identical.

Wouldn’t go as far to say it’s a fake. The NH36 swap is a very popular movement upgrade with these watches. If you wanted to keep it as original as possible I completely understand but in all honesty, it looks like whoever swapped that movement did you a favor.

Seikos are well known known for frequently being modded.

Like the others said, the movement swap is an upgrade.

I feel a lot better now thank you

Maybe it's just another version of the movement. For example, I bought a Citizen Promaster NY0040  from an AD, the dial says B-8203, but the movement is the current B-8204 upgrade of the NY0141
