Inside baseball, prices, and some questions

Where do some watch sites get off when setting/asking certain prices for watches?! For example, here are two Omega Aqua Terras (a model and ref. that's no longer in production).

1.) Asking price: $7450 https://www.analogshift.com/collections/watches/products/omega-seamaster-aqua-terra

2.) Asking price: $5900 https://www.crownandcaliber.com/products/omega-seamaster-aqua-terra-231-10-39-21-03-001-10-10-ome-gr9ftn

Are you really telling me that "papers" for an Aqua Terra are worth a price difference of $1550?!

This is all to say,...does anyone have any "inside baseball" knowledge about how sites set and justify certain prices?

Further, how do you decide what's a fair price? Are there sites you avoid for charging too much or sites that you will pay a bit more because you trust their verification/authentication methods?

Watches out of a full set do not bring as much and the market is upset at the moment with used prices falling. Date of manufacture and condition are big points they use. There could be years between the two.
