Tudor BB pro review by not so enthusiastic collector

I was aiming for 3 watch collection, two of them I own are Oris BCPD 40mm and Garmin sports watch.

My wrist size is 15,5cm

The final choices for the purchase were omega railmaster denim or Tudor BB silver.

I consider my Oris to be “dress watch”, garmin obviously sports, and I was looking for the final “everyday watch”

Even though I did my thorough research and narrowed down to final two, BB pro popped up as a strong candidate out of nowhere at last minute. I didn’t like the brushed silver bezel, and I was always attracted to the bezel of clean field watch such as BB 41 or Hamilton murph. Yet there was something about BB Pro that speaks to me when I saw it in person, and GMT function is something I need since I live outside of my home country, plus I travel quite a bit for my work.

Now I guess the main thing people are still interested is whether the case is too thick or not..

Yes it is thick, but as a mediocre watch collector who wants to have as little watches as possible with limited budget, I would like to feel the existence on my wrist when I pay a few grand. I do not need to have Hublot type of feeling to realise that I paid hefty amount of money, yet I’d like to feel that the watch I wear is precious. If I wear with NATO, it won’t go inside my cuffs but I have my Oris for it. And Tudor is perfect for me since people don’t know much about it unless they are into watches, which gives me the safer feeling while travelling abroad.

I know by now that perfect watch doesn’t exist, but I have decided my collection is as good as it gets, so from now on I will just browse through some photos of peoples watches, but I doubt that I will be buying anything for a long long time.

This is not your regular watch review for collectors, but hope this helps someone who is wondering between BB pro, railmaster, Hamilton murph, etc(rare I know)

  • You can feel what you paid for
  • Discreet enough to wear anywhere
  • It’s simply beautiful when you look closer
  • I agree that some might find it thick
  • Too discreet for the price?

Interesting point about the size, I tend to agree with you. People go on about how light titanium is, and I always wonder if I want that. I have a titanium diver and I like that it doesn't strike me as much lighter than a steel watch. Anyway, I get your point about wanting a bit of heft, and especially with a tool watch.

I guess I’m not used to luxury watches and want to feel its value in size, rather than shininess🫣
