On the bench this week a Seiko 6138 UFO Speedtimer

On the bench this week a well worn 1976 UFO Speedtimer.

This one needs a bit of work and a good tidy up.

The stem has sheered from the crown due to rust damage, I have replacement NOS ones on hand. Lower reset pusher seized. Crystal well worn, a new one has arrived.

Full tear down completed and started some pre-cleaning and inspection. The chronograph wheel clutch is a bit weak but still functioning ok.

After a full parts clean and inspection will be ready for reassembly with new gaskets.

Coming up in the next few weeks a SKX007, a 7002 diver and a Citizen Quartz diver on the bench for some maintenance.

I am curious as to weather or not you work on other peoples watches. I just recieved my dads 6138-7000. It runs but needs servicing i'm sure. The clear outer bezel is missing. Duane......Black Diamond, WA. 98010
