Do you have at least one great monochromatic watch? My Serica 5303-1 is one of them for myself.

I don't believe in telling anyone what they have to have in their collection. But, I can't imagine that there are few in this hobby that don't have at least one great monochromatic watch that just works on so many levels. For me, this Serica 5303-1 is one of them.

They certainly are. The latest version with the blue dial and light blue bezel is pretty cool.

I like their new GMT. So tempted. But, not quite different enough in overall look from what I own to justify it, I think. Would compete too much for my wrist time. And, I find the multipurpose bezel on the 5303 I have more interesting and useful, also... Which has a 12-hr portion which can be used as a 2nd time zone, too.

I've literally just bought the 4512 and can wait for its arrival. Have you found your 5303 to be solid with no issues

Overall the 5303 is solid. Mine was part of the first batch(es) produced and delivered late 2021 last year. As such, they all had crown issues. It's a known issue so look it up if you're curious. They offered a free repair to take the watch to one of their watchmakers nearest our location. Idk? I've heard both after the fix and some of the ones that were supposedly fixed after the initial production still exhibited the same crown issue. As such, I said F it and never sent it in. I've learned how to deal with it and otherwise the rest of the watch is near perfect for me. It runs out of box at barely +/-1to2 s/d.

I believe the crown issue is fixed now as I haven't heard of anything about it for quite a while.. that, or nobody is talking about it anymore even IF it may still exist.

thanks for the input. Yeah, was aware about the crown issue, but like you say they have solved this problem so hopefully all good.

I have to check. It's been so long ago. I think so. Otherwise you just have to contact them and find out which one you could be based on your location.

Beautiful watch!

What’s your wrist size just out of curiosity? I have this watch on my short list, but wondering if it wears too big for a 6.5 wrist

6.9" to be more exact. I doubt it will wear too big on your 6.5" wrist. The watch really wears smaller than a 39 mm. To me, it looks like a 38 maybe even bordering on a 37 mm
