First Hamilton

I recently acquired my first Hamilton watch— the Khaki Field Auto (#H70505833)—and have enjoyed wearing it as an everyday piece for the past week or so. Comfortable, easy-to-read (42mm) and I really like having the day feature at the 12 o'clock position. I've switched the original band (pictured) for a leather NATO. I'm digging the look. Only real complaint: I wish it had a screw-down crown for improved water resistance. I'd like to hear what others have to say about the Khaki line from Hamilton. So far, I'm very satisfied with this watch.

Congrats.

I have a Khaki Automatic 38mm and I absolutely love it as a everyday watch!

I’m definitely a Hamilton fan, you’ve made an excellent choice. I wouldn’t worry about the non screw down unless you intend on going swimming with the watch, then it wouldn’t be advisable with a leather strap 👍

Enjoy your new watch mate 🙏🏻

The water resistance is rated for the watch “as it’s built”.  It is rated at the pressure for which it was designed and tested.  The gaskets and seals provide the water resistance.  The screw in portion of the crown is not responsible for the water resistance spec so adding a screw down crown will not increase the water resistance of the watch.

I’m wearing my variation right now.

My hamilton khak gets most of the wrist time.   I just enjoy having it on and looking at the second hand move across the dial.   My hamilton has the eta 2824-2....   just nerding out

Your Hamilton on display is awsome!
