New Cartier Tank Francaise launches in 10 hours

Cartier social media has a countdown with the dates 1917, 1936, 1970, 1977, 1996 and 2023..

Anyone excited for a new Francaise? Any predictions?

So the original Cartier Tank came out in 1917, the Tank Asymétrique in 1936, the Tank Must de Cartier in 1977 and the Tank Francaise in 1997. What new model of tank was introduced in 1970?
I don't immediately see a connection between those versions but I'm excited to see what they'll do.

Oh crap. They'll probably just make it too big and stick the corny solar cell stuff on it if they haven't already. I wish they'd do something cool like platinum or a kangaroo band.

Not usually a Cartier fan, but I like the new design on this and look forward to seeing one in person. They “fixed” the things about the crown and bracelet that always put me off on the française before.

I agree

I like it better than the last one! Will be in enough to sway me away from the Tank Must, don’t think so (but I am known to change my mind a lot :p)

And here is the commercial featuring Rami Malek, a de-aged Catherine Deneuve (cheesy CGI) and direct by Guy Ritchi. No wonders those quartz watch are so expensive :p

Definitely in the same head space. Luckily the medium (they probably call it large) model wasn’t in stock yesterday so temptation could be avoided..

they have successfully turned a line I has zero interest in whatsoever to another one that is a maybe.. even if I suspect the tank must is the one for me!

The new L is almost the same size as the XL from 2001. I like the new placement of the crown, but I prefer the previous dial and I’m still not a fan of the integrated bracelet.
