Attempt at a top ten! State of the collection.

Ok so I got the watches out for a play. And I was trying to get it down to just ten watches. These are the ones I chose. A lot of fine watches didn’t make the cut -either from duplication or they didn’t spark as much joy.

Briefly:

  • Dads Garrard (the first watch I’m grabbing in a fire) and Bellmatic.

  • My Pelagos FXD and my Omega SMP - probably my favourite watches

  • My Hamilton W10 and Pulsar G10 - issued watches form 1976 and 1999 - love a field watch.

  • A couple of swatches - these being the most similar to the original fifty fathoms and Blancpain. I just like them!

  • A couple of Casios. The square classic g shock - love it. And a little pink F91-W.

In a comment I’ll post some that didn’t make the cut and why…

So here are some that missed the cut.

The cartier because ultimately dad’s Garrard is a good dress watch. The CWC (issued 1996) and the Seiko RAF (issued 1984) because I just preferred the other two. The Clymer g shock as I prefer the iconic black. And the blue moonswatch as I prefer the grey.

There are others watches of course - but you get the idea!

I’ve often tried to do this and each time I get a different result. Obviously the gifts are there and that fills three spots but the other seven change all the time.

That W10, though… 🤌🏼
