I imagine that the watched shown by OP manufactured by Poljot was named after the Buran program to kind of “commemorate” it. After all, it’s an aviator’s chrono so it makes sense.

I saw it's namesake space shuttle sitting in storage on a dock in Bahrain around 2003. Very cool experience!
