Wrist size issues (the other way)

I am a big wrist guy ~8.25” but I have been really attracted to smaller watches as of late (35-37mm). Whether it be the Longines Spirit 37, the Zodiac Olympos, or a sweet vintage King Seiko, they have caught my attention. My reservation is less in the watch itself but more in the strap, I don’t want it to feel like my watch is on a rubber band. Therefore I present my smallest watches, the Seiko SNK809, and my Grampas vintage railroad watch (not currently running), both with 18mm band, on my wrist. Please let me know if I’m ok or if I need to leave rubber band city!

I completely agree with you, my interest in the Spirit 37 is completely based on date window placement. The one on the right is a significant momento in my life, so it is going nowhere although it rarely gets worn. I prefer watches on 20mm straps. My 40mm Cincy watch for reference.

The watches are good, but the strap on the Chessie is too tight. Loosen it one hole.

There are a couple of options to fix this issue. You could buy a 18-20mm adapter or for the seiko you could fit it on a bund strap.

True, I might just pass it along, got it for $45 of eBay before prices went crazy lol

I'm surpised the SNK looks so big, but probably that camera perspective issue. The railroad watch, not railroad issue but motif, looks fine but the black band adds color contrast that may not help things. Typically I'd recommend an expansion band, but I doubt that will be welcomed here.

I Have this issue as well. I have a big wrist, and I like smaller watches. My smallest watch though Is a 38mm. I don't think I'll go lower than a 37 or so. My issue isn't the thinnest of the strap, it's more the length. I hate when a strap is on one the last or second to last hole. I've remedied this by buying custom straps. You can look on etsy or any other place that offers custom straps or decent prices. Also, I seen someone mention a bundt strap, I personally don't like how those feel on my wrist, but if you can manage to pull it off, it's a good option.

P.s. how's the Cincinnati watch, I have been eying those for a min. I love the gilt and maroon, but I kinda can't get pass how they interrupted the railroad tracks with those tri-angles, I think it would have looked better if they didn't do that, but that's just me.

As a bigger wrist guy too I get it, but I feel the Gramoas looks too small on you. However, my opinion is subjective and feel free to ignore it. The smallest I have is a 40mm, but I'd consider a 38 on the right strap.

Lol I’d never paid attention to the triangles!!😂 I really do like it a lot. It’s a low key strap monster as I have 4-5 nato straps that work great for it. I got mine as a preorder but still $550 for a regulated Selita SW200 is great. Mine was adjusted to +2 sec upon arrival.

I know it does, it rarely gets worn, more sentimental (35mm). My smallest regular rotation is 38 mm Hamilton Khaki Mechanical

I have that watch but I felt I needed the 42.I'm a firm believer in people wearing whatever they want to, regardless of others opinions. Just do what pleases you.
