First time seeing my collection

For the first time in my 3 years of watch collecting , I actually got my collection out today to see them side by side. Often tucked away in each of there respective cushiony homes, I had only really seen my collection in full in my head, which is bizarre when I say that out loud!

When I first started collecting, I thought I wanted to tick all the standard categories for putting a collection together. The sports watch, the dive watch, the daily beater etc, but, through my dads love for Cartier, I started with the dress watch in my Cartier roadster. Later finding out this is a sports watch, I kinda killed two birds with one stone. Appreciate for most that with Cartiers design language that this probably doesn’t meet the requirements of a sports watch, but after this purchase I was broke, and it was ticking two boxes wether I like it it not!

Some time down the line I was in a position to make my next purchase, and if I’m honest, I really couldn’t escape the dress watch aesthetic and feeling that came with it..I was kinda hooked.

Fast forward to today, and having my collection infront of me I feel like I stayed true to that (with the exception of the moonswatches 🤦🏻‍♂️ couldn’t help myself). Its the dressier designs that just really speak to me, and fit nicely in my lifestyle I imagine in my head, with my overcoats, pleated everything, loafers and coffee on the go…as opposed to my reality, of my 2 year old crying baby boy, destroying mine and mummy’s nice things, and the French bulldog taking up what use to be my space in the bed

A man can dream!

Anyway, I’ve loved the journey over the last 3 years. Let’s see what happens in 2024 ✌🏻

You took the direction that really called to you inner wants and when you do so you are usually content with the results. I think it’s important to really sit back and think about how you really want to buy rather then checking off a box! As for the 4 moonswatches…🧐NICE!! They balance out the serious and formal tone a dress watch can emulate.

Perfect way to fill out a collection; in a way that speaks to what you want. Many happy years more!

What’s the cushion case?

Perfect story and summation. I can tell it’s a loved and collection that represents you and your interests and I don’t even k ow you. Well done for so early in the journey.

I’ve always been tempted by the Roadster & Pasha, do you ever wear the Roadster on bracelet?

The cushion case is an Omega, and I have no idea what the model or reference is 🤦🏻‍♂️ alls I know is it’s from the 30’s 🤷🏻‍♂️ I posted that watch on here a while back, and one comment said it was and Omega cushion Moon 🤷🏻‍♂️but, again I’m not that savy when it comes to Omega history. Seen it, liked it, bought it 😂

The last 12 months I’ve gone down the vintage route, and with the Omega, UG uni compax and tank must, and I’m not disappointed!

The roadster I wear more on the leather strap, but if I’m feeling sporty I’ll but the bracelet on 😂 I do love it on the bracelet, gives it a bit more presence

Appreciate the reply, I was def thinking it’s “ a lot of watch “ on bracelet.
