I Guess what I mean is, she nailed the brief..

For a bit of context I posted about this watch a while back, prompting a discussion about the size and proportions of your watch, and how important are they really. Don’t really wana go down that rabbit hole again… so many different views, great points made and took on board.

Again for more context, my now wife always knew I wanted to wear a Cartier tank for our wedding day, but with the cost of the wedding (particularly in England) costing a decent deposit for a house, the dream Tank Louie was out of the question. So, as a wedding present she bought me this Tank Must.

I.LOVED.IT! But I must admit, I was nervous about the size, and it took me a while to come round to it. It was this that fuelled the initial post! I knew the tank was considered a small watch, which is fine and I think that’s part of the appeal, but the “woman’s” size did make me think wether she’d gone a little to far. I think what’s clear is my appreciation for smaller watches has become more apparent over time, and I think that reflects in my collection as a whole.

This doesn’t replace the aspiration of owning a Tank Louie one day, which is fine as there’s always room for more Cartier in my collection! maybe it’ll be under the Christmas tree one year who knows! (A guy can dream!)

But this little iddy biddy watch holds such a special place in my collection, and now thinking back to the wedding day, looking at the wedding photos and wearing it today for the first time since, I can confirm…SHE ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT! I absolutely love this watch, even if I do forgot I’m wearing it sometimes 😂

So, to bring that long winded story to a close, here’s a picture of the watch, and a couple from the big day because, well why not 😂 I felt the like the dogs bollocks and it’s not everyday you get to play 007 🤵🏻🥃 (I know I know JB wouldn’t be caught dead with a Cartier on his wrist 🤦🏻‍♂️)

I love “small” watches. I feel as though the watch market is heading that way as well. A Cartier should look delicate in my opinion. The tank has been around for over 100 years for reason. My wife got me my steel Tank Must for my 35th birthday. 🥳

Think my point is if you were able to ask JB (appreciate his a fictional character 😂) he’d probably give Cartier a miss! Can’t imagine they’d hold up to well with all the front rolls, desert sand and deep sea diving to the bad guys secret underwater lair! He was probably gutted to hear Tag and Casio won the sponsorship bids in he early years 😂..although I imagine he was rather happy with the stint with Rolex! Hard to imagine Bond with anything other than a Omega these days!

Now the main bad guys… they could pull off a Cartier…and a cane! Think we need more Cartiers and canes in the next run of bonds 😬

😂 point is…I love Cartier. And your watch is amazing.

And yes, Bond Villians do wear Cartier

I won't bore you with my love for small watches and small tank watches and just say that when I see a Cartier tank I think, elegant, confident and classic. From the sweater shot I see you are also embracing the knowledge that a dressy watch looks great in more casual situations. Enjoy the watch it's beautiful. BTW you make a very handsome couple. Congratulations.
