Pics are always helpful in threads like this, especially considering this is a micro brand, so we know what your looking at.🙂

Good call.

Once leather gets smelly from sweat, it's really difficult to get that smell out.

I'm getting to old to care about stuff like Apple phones. You come to a point in your life where you pair things down, not add yet another complication to it. I'm also at a point I can't see very well, so it makes no sense to even have one if I still have to reach for reading glasses.

Ahh, the joys of getting old!😊

The Benrus LED watch.

This was my first "good"watch that I begged my parents to get me. It was a staggering $100, which was a princely amount of money in 1970 or thereabouts. But it was the latest and greatest technology at the time.

Well, my parents stretched themselves and got it for me, and for once I was the first guy on the block with something nobody else had! But the euphoria wore off quickly as LED technology was very soon everywhere and the prices plummeted. And of course everyone got them and I was no longer the cool kid on the block.😔

It was my first lesson in patience.

You can find watches from the 70s that are in the 40/41mm range. Many came with wide integrated bands which also added to the big look.

It's my favorite vintage era and they look great and not at all out of place with today's watches.

I actually own about 40 vintage watches that I've collected over the years. The vast majority of them are Benrus, but there are some Hamilton and Croton in there. Benrus was the first good watch my parents bought me as a kid, so I have a soft spot for them. Collecting these watches was a lot of fun and it wasn't very expensive either. They have gone up in value though.

They all got wrist time over the years, mostly for dress occasions. They look great under the sleeve. They're not great for casual use however. For casual or sport, I go modern.

No rhyme or reason for me, sometimes it's one a day, and sometimes it's several.

A change of clothes is probably the most likely reason to change up.
