What Was Your First Watch?

This Swiss Army Automatic was mine. I won it in a sales contest almost 3 decades ago. Still runs beautifully, and is the watch that got me interested in watches.

I've answered countless "first watch" posts so , suffice it to say, mine was before most Crunchers were born , it was a Timex, and I'll not answer another "first watch" thread.

Now GTF off my lawn!

The Benrus LED watch.

This was my first "good"watch that I begged my parents to get me. It was a staggering $100, which was a princely amount of money in 1970 or thereabouts. But it was the latest and greatest technology at the time.

Well, my parents stretched themselves and got it for me, and for once I was the first guy on the block with something nobody else had! But the euphoria wore off quickly as LED technology was very soon everywhere and the prices plummeted. And of course everyone got them and I was no longer the cool kid on the block.😔

It was my first lesson in patience.
