Some Bulgari love

Hello all, I just got here... cool site. I jumped over to the Bulgari page and saw only 5 posts. So, I thought I would give it a little love from my collection.

Thanks! To give you some history, Gerald Genta, who designed tons of watches, like the Nautilus, Royal Oak, and Omega Constellation, started his own watch company. He produced a watch with this case under that brand. Bulgari purchased his company, and have continued the design, in his honor.

Bulgari is owned by LVMH, along with Zenith. For this reason, this watch has the Zenith el primero movement in it.

Oh, and fun fact, it's a limited edition Maserati variant, so the end of the second hand has their logo, and it came on a blue crocodile strap. I live in Thailand where it's crazy hot, so leather straps are kind of out of the question here, so I purchased the bracelet from Bulgari. It's hard to find an aftermarket 29mm bracelet :) Here is a shot of what it looked like when I purchased it.

Thank you for the explanation, it's great to learn more about these watches and brands and their histories. This site is such a great resource because of the people who are willing to share their knowledge and experience.

Bvlgari - check. Already decided to give this one a whirl today. I picked this up by accident about 6-7 years ago when a throwaway eBay bid actually landed. Very low-ball. This always bring the boys to the yard; signed rotor, mother of pearl dial, integrated bracelet. The metal bracelet is actually very impressive, but not seen one in the wild on it’s own to acquire.

nearly bought one of these in HK duty free the other year. I went to have a sleep and then had to board the flight. The dial is something else. I was discussing this with the guy behind the Watch Lounge a few years ago, Bvlgari have some serious horological firepower behind them right now, and I am always excited to see what they bring out. Probably outside my price range new, but grey market after 5-10 years I’m hoping to clean up (yeah… whatever).

Awesome, I saw one of the those in green dial in the wild the other day. Amazing watch. Love the ebay throw away bid as well. Cool watch. I like the bolstering on the strap. Very cool.

Love it.

Great looking watch!

I've always been drawn to the Octo Finissimo for both it's unusual design and the thinness of the watch.  Is that from the Octo Finissimo line, or something else, and what is the thickness?

Thanks. It's not as thick as you would think... I think it's 13.5, but I can not find anything online, and I do not have calibers here. With the bracelet, it is heavy, however, but not unbalanced. Here are a few great writeups on the watch, if you are interested to know more:
