The Squale/TGV Trio Collection

I'm going to tell you the story of how this happened. Before I purchased any of these I had gotten a Squale Matic. Interesting fact, this is the watch that Marc from Islander Watch and Long Island Watch says is his favorite watch.

This was immediately a favorite of mine. I learned about it being Marc's favorite later. I subscribe to about 5 different YouTube podcasts one of which is The Urban Gentry. I saw the Sand Shark Collaboration on the intro and then researched it as I really loved the look and knew how fantastic the Matic watch I already own is. I didn't think I would have even ever get a chance at one since it had sold out & only 100 were made. Since I had fallen so hard for Squale I always check different sites and see what Squale watches are available but so many to choose from and I hadn't really figured out which model I was going to get. In December this watch is on eBay and I have my heart set on getting it. My bid was over original price by a bit but I got outbid. I had missed my chance and just thought well that's that.🙄 About 2 weeks later though another one shows up on eBay. 😳 I'm like really, no way! It was to be bid on as well but I messaged the seller and negotiated with him to just sell it to me. 😎I was able to get it for less than I had bid before so I was very pleased. After getting it I found out about the Lion Shark and it shows up in February on eBay. 😳 I bid on it and get it. 🎉 I then make a post on WatchCrunch to share information and gain any information and find out from an awesome watch enthusiast ChonoGuy (next level!) that there's one more. Thank you Mel! I'm like oh that's crazy and of course he shares a picture. I think it's gorgeous and the quest continues. In March it shows up on eBay.⚡ I'm like what that's crazy and impossible! I get outbid. 😔 I end up stepping up my search and find one at a jewelry store out of state and was able to aquire it at a fair price. 🎯 It's been incredibly fun and doubt there are too many collections that includes the total trio. Also that they are as limited as they are and were all available seems to me just too good to be true. I really like the look of all of them and they're definitely a pillar in my collection. If you made it this far I hope you enjoyed my storytime and wish you the best for your collection and hope you are really enjoying the hobby (obsession) 🍻

Love that burgundy bezel one, TGV's best to date imo.

ive spotted one a couple of months ago on ebay but the asking price of 1250€ was a bit too much for me and still is

nevertheless, awesome watch

Its great to see a Squale fan and also thought going into which watches within the range they want to collect. I have 16 Squales including some rare ones but none of those. Three very special watches there.

NGL, the design was let down big time by the build quality/details. The bezel was too slippery, the bracelet/buckle was clunky and basic, and the gold paint on/in the bezel minute marks was noticably uneven.

Oof, that's disappointing. Shame, the design is wonderful.

Yes, agree. I enjoy tgv a lot, but I dislike it that tgv did this burgundy as a limited edition. I would buy one instantly. It checks so many boxes for me.

Congrats Lincoln! That’s a great trio of TGV Squales and the Squale-Matic is an awesome watch as well - one of my favorites of the modern Squales.

Great collection and great story of how it came to be!

I'd recommend checking out the Squale 3920 by whatawhatches in Korea. Same triangles + 12-3-6-9 dial, but they shrunk the lugs from 22mm to 20mm (which I never understood why it was that wide in the first place) and the resulting proportion is absolutely beautiful.

Hey Tim did you have one? I am quite good with pretty much everything with this one.

Thanks Mel! Definitely was a rollercoaster of an adventure for me and what a great ride! Definitely Squale is one of my favorite brands. I hope to have another quest that's as enjoyable and crazy as this one was. It really put an amazing amount of fun into my watch collecting. 🎉

Interesting, I'll have to check that out, thanks!
