Advise Needed for Selling Watch

Hello Family, hope everyone is doing well.

I purchase watches for my personal collection no to flip, currently own 3 Rolex which I'm trying to sell one of them,2022 Datejust 41 full set ,in order to be able to purchase and experiment with other brands than Rolex per example, Zenith, Panerai. Where do you guys/gals sell your time pieces minimizing the risk of scam or fraud. Please advise. Wish you All a Great Sunday.

Honestly? For watches above $5k USD I tend to sell to the dealer and pair with a buy. There's a return on brain damage aspect to all of this and I'd rather take a lower price and not worry.

Otherwise, I sell on Ebay with Authentication Guaranteed turned on. It creates an intermediary that shields you as a seller.

Thank you very much, will offer it to a dealer.👍

You could sell back to Rolex who will then sell it on as a confirmed used Rolex. You could also sell it to a grey market dealer like Roman Sharf. You could also sell it through a grey market dealer and they will take a percentage of the selling price (consignment)

EBay via the confirmation service protects you pretty well!

I had a good experience on C24 selling a JLC Master Control. I set a very competitive price and sold it to a serious fella for just a few hundred than my ask. I learned a dear lesson though - shipping can be very expensive for us non-jewelry industry folks. There are several insurance firms that specialize in jewelry but again, not the easiest. Do research now. C24 gave me names of four firms. Dealers offered me ridiculously low prices. 50% of my bottom line and probably 60% of what they’ll get. Nonetheless, C24 holds the buyer’s money in escrow and only releases it after delivery. Again, insurance is the details and I have NO faith in USPS, FedEx (bought a $3,000 watch on C24 at Christmas and it disappeared on a FedEx truck in Florida. They were useless regarding intel, help or concern. I got my money back in full from C24.) and haven’t used UPS. I would consider DHL for international. In sum, you’ll make more selling it yourself, make far less selling to a dealer and get more value from a dealer in a trade. My two cents. Good luck!

Rolex have started their own pre loved site , grey market will love it as the prices being asked are well above grey market prices , in saying that they may pay fairly also , maybe not but worth investigating I guess.

Thank you for the information

Thank you , as you mentioned , I have offered to few dealers and offers are being extremely low , I do realized that they have cost to cover, but margin they trying to make is huge . I may keep it for few more years and wait and see what happens with current market. Much appreciated
