Im lucky enough to be able to buy myself some incredible watches, after three years this is the current state of the collection.

I’m looking towards a Santos next year, hopefully if all goes well.

I’d love to explore vintage at some point too, but I’m not brave enough yet to take the jump just yet.

I love each of these for different reasons, but there’s still a slight working class guilt hang over with each costs so much for me. Not sure I can shake that though despite being able to luckily afford them.

Varied and interesting collection! I 100% agree with the guilt - it’s something I struggle with too - I bought my first luxury watch in Dec to mark a special occasion and I’m so glad I did, but I did have two occasions where I questioned my choice of buying it.

A great rule of thumb I was told is if you can afford to buy one after everything that needs to be paid for and you won’t put yourself in debt/danger then go for it. Similarly my dad always said, there’s a big difference between having 5 grand and having 5 grand to spend on a watch…

I feel you on the guilt, but I think the whole pandemic and lockdown business (and my dad and grandmother dying weeks apart) and overall general crappiness of the last few years has really made me adopt a “enjoy life now” outlook so long as you’re being responsible.

I am sure being able to afford them is less about luck (unless you lottery winnings to find the purchases) and more about skills and hard work. So see these expenses as rewards and motivation to get yourself to the next level.

Congrats on a beautiful collection and my best wishes for the future.

I’m sorry for your loss.

There a balance between saving for the future and enjoying life now. In the end, you cannot take money or watches with you.
