It snuck up on me.

My first "good" watch was a Fossil. I can't escape them, I have a Fossil store close to me and I go in every once in a while to browse what they have. I rarely buy but I saw this last night and for the price, I was not going to let it go ($59). I know some don't like their Hybrid watches but this Fossil Retro Pilot (Model FTW1318) is my second. I don't care for smartwatches but I appreciate these Hybrids. The only drawback to these is the app. It took me several tries to get it to sync with my phone. I forgot I have extra security on my phone and had to let the app through so it could connect. I did not realize that Fossil offers free battery replacements on these watches. It is a good thing since you don't recharge these watches. The battery typically lasts about a year for me.

What really surprised me was the lum. None of my Fossil watches have good lum, not even my other Hybrid. The lum on this Retro Pilot is really good. The numbers and hands are the only things that have lum and I believe the numbers have a different lum than the hands. The hands were still very legible after several hours with only about 30 seconds of charging them under a LED light bulb. The numbers were just barely perceptible but they were still glowing.

They have some very unique designs, but they are usually too big for me.

This one is at the upper limit of what I can wear. The dial clocks in at 44mm and the lug-to-lug is about 48mm.
