My take ( Part two)

Not every watch needs a sapphire crystal.

Mineral crystal makes the most practical sense for divers(due to the risk of sapphire shattering) and acrylic is perfect for vintage inspired watches (Polywatch fixes them and brings back to life 50+ year old time pieces.

The thing with crystals is that it's not an optional upgrade, so it's a bit of a moot point. And in my case it's also irrelevant, I'm not going to pass on a beautiful watch because it has the "wrong" sort of crystal, in the same way that I don't care about WR (unless it's a diver) or lume (ever).

FWIW I prefer acrylics; if there was a choice then every mechanical I'd buy with acrylic, and every quartz with a sapphire.

I Care about lume to be honest

I’m now the lucky owner of eight pieces. Half of my watches are sapphire crystal and half have mineral / acrylic. Great article at Theo and Harris for those interested. https://theoandharris.com/watch-101-sapphire-vs-mineral-vs-acrylic-crystals-which-one-is-right-for-me/
