How do you find a good watchmaker to repair a vintage watch?

I've got an old (probably late 50's, has radium on the dial) Gruen Precision I got from my grandfather after he passed, and it could use some work. It runs, and the day function changes, but the date doesn't. So I only wear it on the 28th if I remember, lol! Crystal is a bit rough too. I hit it with some PolyWatch, but I'm pretty sure it's cracked, so really should get replaced. It's just that this company has been gone for a while, so I don't even know where to start looking for someone who can repair it.

Sounds good, I'll look around. And it's have no issue sending it off if needed, so that is an option. I'm near Portland, OR if anyone else sees this. Honestly, I'd love to get Marshall from Wristwatch Revival to do it on his channel, and he's only about 3 hours away. I guess Insta is a way to get a hold of him, but I hate having anything Meta installed on my phone, lol! Couldn't hurt to ask him, I reckon. But if I can support a local business, I'd love to do that. Just need to keep searching. I guess the biggest question I have about someone is send it to is, how do you know if they are good?
