I've been thinking about it for a few days, but I need to get it off my chest. I don't know how the situation around the world is, but it's very difficult to find a good watchmaker around here, so I'm really glad that I finally found a competent one. By the way, I never realized how uplifting it feels to receive back your precious piece after a service, allowing you to admire it. #watchmaker #serviced #junghans #vintage

Very true. These days, the small town watchmaker has disappeared. I'm grateful mine is still around; I routinely go to him for advice and for the purchase of many of my vintage pieces. That experience and bonding is priceless. Trying to learn how to service my watches on my own is my remedy, but it is an uphill battle.
Your Junghans looks gorgeous, by the way. Glad it's been serviced properly, it's worth hanging on to!
Looks great for its age!
Quite the dilemma for me too. I've developed a roster of watchmakers in the Los Angeles area depending on what I want done. None are good for everything and all have managed to occasionslly disappoint. This has really chilled my passion for vintage and preowned watches while the search for decent watch help continues.
Please share LA list.My watchmaker just retired.
