Any reasonable way to swap dials?

The new longines mini dolce vita looks great but the dials on the diamond cases are outstanding. The wife isn’t really into the diamonds though so is there any reasonable way to transplant the dial and hands from the diamond version into the regular case?

You can swap cases if you owned both watches. I don’t think any retailer will allow you to swap cases for fear of damage. If you can get permission, it really isn’t hard to swap cases. Good luck!

I was almost hoping they’d let me buy the non diamond version and then the dial and hands from the other version as spare parts and pay the watchmaker to swap. But yeah might be more reasonable to buy the diamond version and buy the case as a spare part

Green and gold is such a great combination. It's not a difficult job for a watchmaker but I'm not sure how you'd source the parts..?

More than likely they won’t sell you a case. These watch manufacturers are very stubborn about that. You could try a company certified service watch repair place and ask if they could get one for you. That’s about all you can do. Good luck!

Only if "reasonable" includes purchasing both. A local watchmaker could swap the dials no problem. You could then try to sell the unwanted dial/case combo as a used watch, but since it wouldn't be an original release, you'd take quite a bath on the sale.

Not a chance. Swatch for sure won't sell you a case, and if a local watchmaker with access to Longines parts did it for you, Swatch could very well cut off their access to all OEM parts in the future.

Yeah I wasn’t considering that option “the most reasonable” but maybe it’s not that unreasonable

Very interesting. Not something I thought of. Maybe if we see it in person we’d change our minds. Here’s hoping, as it would be the easiest option

Competent enough jewler might even be able to just smooth out the channels, sell the stones to pay for the service.

I mean dudes pay someone to stick bling ALL over AP's, and Rollies, why can't they do the opposite.

Where there's a will, there's a way..... provided you have $.

TBH, I prefer General Hannibal Barca's supposed quote, "I'll either find a way, or make one." 🤏🏻🤘🏻🤙🏻

An email to the Cartier repair facility could answer your question.

Thinking of gifting one of these, but balking at the price, as they are quartz movements. Never enjoyed changing batteries every 2 years or whatever it is. But the recipient will love the design - maybe that's more important.

Buy both, do the swap then sell the 'spare one'. You'll take a hit but you'll have a unique watch for your wife.
