Been dancing around watches since my dad gave me a Seiko after one of his Japan trips. First real beauty was my Rado Cobra NCC404 gifted to me by a favorite aunt in the early 70s. I’ve learned to appreciate many brands, the delight of micro brands and largest manufacturers. Also, that price doesn’t mean you can’t find a stunner at a fraction of the big players. Just enjoying the hobby and happy to participate.
Wearing my Fratello X Straum Jan Mayen "Red Lava" piece. Probably the coolest and most vibrant dial I've ever seen. Integrated bracelet and perfect 39...
I had a good experience on C24 selling a JLC Master Control. I set a very competitive price and sold it to a serious fella for just a few hundred than my ask. I learned a dear lesson though - shipping can be very expensive for us non-jewelry industry folks. There are several insurance firms that specialize in jewelry but again, not the easiest. Do research now. C24 gave me names of four firms. Dealers offered me ridiculously low prices. 50% of my bottom line and probably 60% of what they’ll get. Nonetheless, C24 holds the buyer’s money in escrow and only releases it after delivery. Again, insurance is the details and I have NO faith in USPS, FedEx (bought a $3,000 watch on C24 at Christmas and it disappeared on a FedEx truck in Florida. They were useless regarding intel, help or concern. I got my money back in full from C24.) and haven’t used UPS. I would consider DHL for international. In sum, you’ll make more selling it yourself, make far less selling to a dealer and get more value from a dealer in a trade. My two cents. Good luck!
I definitely would depending upon what comfort level you have with a 41mm. I have the Tudor 58 also and find it to be - for my wrist - a bit large and tall compared to the boutique bronze 39mm. I believe the standard bronze with fabric strap is even larger at 43mm. Wow.
Congrats on this! It’s a beauty. I actually think that’s a delightful combination and makes the DJ very classy. I had a similar experience last year. Stopped in the Miami boutique and was asked the same question. When I mentioned DateJust, the sales rep replies, “Two just came in.” In my case, neither was what I wanted so I passed. However within a few months, my local AD texted me with a picture of the one I wanted and yes, I bought it. I’m a huge fan of the DJ. Mine is quite understated and it’s always special to wear it.
