Crunchers,
A recent major professional accomplishment of mine involves the color green. I’m thinking about celebrating with a new watch, so let’s hear your favorite green dial or bezel watches at 1500, 2500, and 5000. Any style is good, aside from super formal dress watches. And I can rock a 36 to a 43mm.
My favorite green bezel is my Longines Spirit Zulu Time. And although I’m still waiting for my Yema Traveller micro-rotor, it’s sure to be my favorite green dial. This isn’t to say there aren’t others I like. These are just the ones I’ve paid for.
Just slightly above the $5,000 cap, but the IWC Mark XX in green is pretty terrific to see in person.
I have one green watch in my collection, a Seiko LX SNR045. The green colorway makes it quite a statement piece. It's powered by the excellent 5R65 spring drive movement too, making it absurdly accurate for a mechanical watch. It's a large watch at a little under 45mm in diameter, but it wears deceptively well on my 6.8 inch wrist. The lightweight titanium construction helps a lot too. They originally retailed for 6,000 USD, but they can be found for less than that pretty easily. I spotted one going for $4,500 on Chrono24.
First off, congrats on your promotion. It's under budget, but I like this one...
And I think I might have guessed what your promotion is...
Under $5k new given the strength of the dollar, if you buy from a Japanese dealer on Chrono24. Put it on a green shell cordovan strap, and you're straight up...
Oris Aquis
Also the Frédérique Constantin Healey is pretty cool.

I’ve lusted after an IWC Mark XX for a while. I think I have some strange block about paying 5k for a flieger, though I think the Mark XX is brilliant.

Is this the 400 calibre version? How’s the integrated bracelet? I generally prefer bracelets.

Oooh, I like this one quite a bit.

It is the Caliber 400. The integrated bracelet is fantastic. Female end link. Super easy to remove and replace. Only complaint is that the rubber strap is currently only made by Oris and costs $350.
