One trick pony, IMO, YMMV.

Have gone the fashion route, good for them, point of a company is to make money. I'd rather spend my fun money elsewhere.

This recalls a very short futile business meeting that I had with 2 young entrepreneurs who are nice guys but total dreamers. It was obvious nothing positive would happen when one of the guys said that his dad is a watch guy trying to sell a Movado. I was suddenly intrigued until his business partner who is a watch guy shut down my excitement by informing me the Movado was quartz and not even the famous MoMA iteration. I wished them good luck!

It’s a good reminder, they did not create the MoMA museum watch.

True there was a lawsuit in which they sertled with the designer. The old ones with mechanical movements were sought after and collectible. Movado actually has an interesting catalogue before they became connected with the design that they did not develop. I would say that they could be Longines but some of their early triple calendar Moonphase iterations would sell to a limited market. Thx for reminding me.

Definitely a stronger back catalogue than they or anyone else give them credit for… as an enthusiast, it does sadden me a bit to see their strong heritage ignored.

There is no doubt they have legit horological history, especially their chronos, but stealing a design for 20 years before settling with the estate is still unacceptable to most. I think many of us would love to see them pivot to their older complications and designs. They have tried, but for many, they will forever be lumped into the fashion/mall brand.
