Horage pre order open today

Disclosure, one of the guys at Horage is a friend of a friend and I've got a deposit down with them 🤪.

I’m impressed by the company, so am giving them a plug.  Please disregard if uninterested, or read onwards for fun or if curious.

A watch with all Swiss parts and Swiss made Tourbillon?

That Tourbillon is:

  • made from anti magnetic silicon, with a Ti cage

  • with a ball bearing construction

  • that is fine for sports and is tested to 5000g

  • Is in a grade 5 Ti case (44g !)

No, it's not a 1.1 million dollar RM! (yikes😬)

It’s this guy: Horage Lensman

There's a Horage pre-order that’s now live, watches go out Q4 2023.  Preorder saves ~$500

https://www.horage.com/lensman-11

Lensman 1.1 is ~10,500 USD but now it's 500 cheaper on preorder.  A perk: Horage price includes ALL taxes, duties, shipping for almost all countries. One more bonus, you can split cost into 2 payments, which I did!

IMO company is a barrier breaker: they got cut off from buying other Swiss movements while developing their first watch.

They Discussed giving up and instead embarked on creating their own movement.  Developed the K1 movement that now they use, and they license to other companies to make.

And for pricing - where an another small Swiss manufacturer Code 41 openly discloses their pricing at 3.5x cost, Horage prices at 1.38x so as to keep the Tourbillon model at ~10k.

Anyway - I’d dreamt to get a high quality tourbillon and one that’s able to be worn during active life. Will of course let ya’ll know when I get it!

Much less understated than the Lensman, but price on the Code41 Tourbillon is similar at 11.998:

I still think it's a very interesting watch; but the amount of computer generated 'you are our special friend' / 'become part of the most interesting community on the planet'-type messages quickly became too much for me :)

Like the Lensman btw! Look forward to seeing you NA post & experiences!

It is a million times classier than the RM

OK this is going to be really fascinating. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!!

Wow! Craziness!!!

You're gonna take your tourbillon out into the wilderness? Chop wood, build forts, hand-to-hand combat with bears while wearing it???

Oh! That’s my favorite of the color options on the Tourbillon 1! 😍

Nice watch! I never see those for sale, says a lot for the watch

I guess, yeah 😂😁

Wearing an incredibly robust watch just gives me a happy sense of reassurance to be quite active and never worry about my watch. Spring drive is also way more bomb proof than a balance wheel and escapement, another reason to love those.

I wear, I don’t have hair, my watches are approved for wrestling a bear, I need not worry or care.. 🎵🎼🎶

It’s a long waiting process doing the pre order, but I’m finding it makes it makes the dopamine hit of buying last way longer 🙂

And I like watches that are sparkly fidget spinners, so a sporty tourbillon seems like a great option

Thanks! 👍

I looked at the code 41 as well. (Hear you on excessive communication. )

The 41 is a very cool and far out looking watch. I think it’s probably great quality, but Horage was better, after researching about both

The other concern, the legibility on the 41 gave me pause - I still want to see time with quick glance !

Simply Wow!
