So Can someone help me understand what the moon swatch is? I’ve been looking to get an omega and I keep seeing them out there I’m not really quite familiar with what they are any insight would be helpful. Thanks

It's a Swatch quartz watch, made in partnership with Omega to resemble the Speedmaster. If you want an Omega, then the MoonSwatch isn't what you are looking for.
Take the most popular Omega over the past 50 years, make it from plastic, add a Swatch quartz module, toss it on a cheap unusable strap and throw it in a cardboard box. Put the Omega name on it and only sell it from Swatch boutique stores to keep it exclusive.
You are probably getting confused with what people call the "moon watch" The omega model that was worn during the Apollo missions. The hesalite glass with solid case back is the original design, you are get them in sapphire crystal and case back, called sapphire sandwich.
