Timegrapher apps

Hi nor sure if this has been discussed before...

I'm thinking about downloading a timegrapher app from the playstore but there's quite a few to choose from.

My autos almost all of which are seikos or orients all keep good time but gain or lose a bit every day.

Not an issue because when I get round to wearing one I use a multiband gshock to set it.

But I am curious to see how they perform.

Has anybody used an app and what's the best one to download

I use WatchCheck on Android.  It’s not a timegrapher but more of an accuracy log/tracker (i.e. you sync it and compare it against atomic time or gps over time).

I didn’t find any of the app based timegraphers that use the phone microphone to be accurate or useful.

Thanks for that

I did download one and tried it out on seiko samurai and turtle.

One after the other

It picked up the samurai but not the turtle?

Watch Accuracy Meter for Samsung. Checked my Orient Kamasu.  +3 sec/day regularly.

A timegrapher is actually rather cheap on AliExpress.  I tried apps, didn't get on with them and purchased the usual Chinese Weishi 1000.  Quite inexpensive and at least its the right tool for the  job.

yeah I‘ve resisted a weishi or ace(they all come from the same factory i assume) primarily because it’s not something I want on my desk(no offense, but you know they're ugly.) Whats nice about an app is that it’s 21st C and you can store your graphs for reference and they‘re dated and everything. The only issue is that you either need a good mic and/or preamp or a very quiet space. There are also a bunch of settings which can be fussy. If you’re not regulating i don’t think you need to keep extra equipment around just to see how your movement is running. Completely my opinion, i’m sure the weishi is no fuss.

I got the exact same model. Because it is a bit bulky the shipment from China is a bit dearer than one is used to from shipping watches. For me it was £121.73 including shipping to the UK, the item itself £86.96.

I had tried a couple of those apps before, but I have a very old phone and either the mike of the phone or the app created many no-clue measurements.

Downloaded the watch accuracy app and once I took my phone out of the case it worked.

Sort of backed up what I knew of these 4 seiko's

Seems accurate because it picked up the beats per minute of the movements correctly
