Awesome everyday watch review - Monta Noble

I hope this review helps out anyone looking for a great multi- purpose watch. I was not looking for a dress watch, but something that could dress up if needed. More of a casual GADA type watch, sporty, etc. Price range was $750-$1500.

My wants were:

Fixed bezel

decent water resistance

preferably 39mm-40.5mm case size

thinner case, preferably under 12mm

wanted some decent lume

blue dial

"refined but tough"

I Looked in person at Tissot Gentleman, Longines Conquest 39mm, Seiko Sarx, Hamilton Jazz Master, and online at Formex Essence and Christopher Ward Sealander.

(Note: I have owned a Sinn 556 before and it's a great watch but it wore smaller than I liked, and I wanted something with "some" polished areas).

Any of those above models would have done the trick, but nothing really moved me. I saw the Monta Noble online and got interested. Looked like it ticked all the boxes. I saw one used on Ebay and made an impulse buy. My only concerns were the size at 38.5 and whether it would be too dressy.

I received it yesterday and it really delivers in person. I won't go on about the finishing as I think a lot of people are aware of the high quality level Monta is producing. but....wow! Everyone says "Rolex level finishing" and having owned a Datejust previously I have to agree.

So my concerns were unnecessary

. It wears like a 39mm-39.5mm watch. Lug to lug is 47.2mm, vs 45.5 on the Sinn and that coupled with lugs that are a little "chunky", gives the watch very good wrist presence. My wrist is 6.75".

Regarding the "dressyness" of the watch, it is for me, exactly what I wanted. A sporty, elegant steel watch. I would wear this with a t-shirt to the beach, to casual settings, for work, but it could definitely dress up nicely for special occasions. It's a watch that will complement just about any kind of attire.

It's super thin at 9.7mm, Lume is very good especially considering how thin the indices and hands are, bracelet and clasp with micro-adjust are amazing, screw down crown, 150M water resistance, etc. Definitely has the stats covered, but it also has "that thing". It is tough to stop looking at it! I foresee this getting a lot of wrist time this summer. Would highly recommend this watch to someone looking for something like a Rolex OP or Omega AT, that either doesn't want to spend that kind of money or can't afford to, but still wants something exceptional.

  • Size. Perfect.
  • Extremely comfortable. Melts on wrist.
  • No corners cut. Everything executed to exceed expectations.
  • Only gripe, I wish it had either drilled lugs or a CW style quick release for the bracelet. Nitpicking, LOL.

Great review; I love the colour, it really has that thing that just draws your eyes to it. It's simple and a bit more elegant than the average multi-purpose watch.

Very lovely blue dial. I love my Monta Atlas with a white dial too. They do a great job with their watches.

@Easy753 Thank you for posting your perspective— this is a beautiful watch. How is the regulation (+/- seconds per day) on yours?

Loved your review here and share many thoughts with you on my Noble. I see it staying in my collection for a long time and maybe a forever keeper for me. Not only is quality incredible but the memories with it too!!

Great review. Seriously tempted to get the Blue Noble, but I’ve already got the silver dial Triumph and my wife has the Tiffany blue Noble. I’ve been known to put my Triumph bracelet in her Noble and wear it!
