My first Longines!

Hey all! I just picked up the newer Longines Hydroconquest 41 and I’m in love! This is my first Longines, and I’m absolutely digging it. I wasn’t so sure when I was looking at photos compared to the Oris Aquis, but as soon as I saw it in person, I knew I had to have it. I’ll report back in a few weeks with the init accuracy of the L888.5 movement.

The HydroConquest is a great watch. The bracelet could be better, but all in all it's far better bang for the buck than the SW-200-powered Aquis. For that money, nothing can really beat the L888.5. Free-sprung balance (variable inertia balance wheel to regulate) with an amagnetic Silicium hairspring, up to 72h power reserve, and the L888 has just about the smoothest hand-winding functionality I've ever seen.

Absolute stunner! Congratulations!

I have the exact same watch and it’s an absolute stunner. It’s my dressy diver.

Congratulations! 👏 I have the older ETA HC 41mm. It is absolutely one of my favourite watches. 😊👌

I agree with everything you said! The bracelet is lacking a little, but like you said, the hand winding is super smooth on the L888

I love the older one too! I was considering that because I love the red tipped second hand, and the bezel markers 👌

This in black is my first automatic watch gifted by my wife and I love it! I do agree that the bracelet is a bit lacking. Still haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing the OEM rubber strap for it. Are you also thinking of getting the rubber strap for it?

I love this piece but can’t get past the lack of the number 3. Wear it in good health!

Yeah I wanna get the branded one with the fitted ends!

How is the bezel action? mine is a bit stiff to turn.

Mine too. I’ve heard they all are. Which is a good thing in my experience. Not only is it a legit diver, and it needs to be hard to turn, but a stiffer bezel will break in over time. I hated both my seastars because after a couple months, you could turn the bezel by accident with your sleeve. Longines does a great job with the gear tooth edging, making it grip well 👍
